Switching Brokers

In SchemeServe, each policy is linked to a broker (agent). There may be scenarios where this needs to be updated, such as correcting ownership or transferring a policy to a different broker.

Switching the Broker on a Policy

  1. Open the policy record in SchemeServe
  2. On the right-hand side, locate the Broker field
  3. Click Switch (or View/Switch) next to the broker name
  4. Enter the broker reference (e.g. JES1)
  5. Click Save

Finding a Broker Reference

If you do not know the broker reference:

  1. Navigate to Agents from the top menu in SchemeServe
  2. Search for the broker
  3. Open the broker account
  4. The reference will appear in brackets next to the broker name

Example: Test Broker (TES1)

Use this reference when performing the switch.

Important Considerations

Policies Already On Cover

If a policy is already On Cover, it is generally recommended to:

  • Process a Mid-Term Adjustment (MTA), or
  • Wait until Renewal to switch the broker

Policies Not Yet Paid / Pre-Cover Adjustments

If a payment has not been recorded:

  • Change the policy status to Quotation
  • This removes the entry from Digit
  • Update the broker using the Switch option
  • Click Save

Set the policy back to On Cover

This creates a new entry in Digit under the new broker

Bulk Broker Switching

SchemeServe does not support bulk broker switching.

If you need to update multiple policies, contact our Obsessive Support Team, who can assist with this process.
