Can I edit a quote after it’s been saved?
No - once a quote has been saved you can:
1. Contact the underwriter with any changes needed
2. Requote the policy. When you are in the policy, on the right hand side, there is the option to “requote in new case”. This will take you into the quote journey again and allow you to make changes - your previous record's data will prepopulate the fields on this quote journey.
Once a policy is bound, changes must be made via an MTA, not by editing the original quote.
How do I make a Mid-Term Adjustment (MTA)?
To process an MTA: Open the policy from the Cases tab, select “Adjust Policy”, update the relevant details. SchemeServe will recalculate the premium and apply any additional or return premium.

How do renewals work?
Renewals are available a certain number of days before expiry. (This date is controlled by the site admin)
You can: jump into the policy, hit “renew policy” on the right hand side.
Full guide here.
Why can’t I proceed to quote?
This usually occurs because mandatory fields are incomplete or invalid.
Check for: Highlighted fields in red, missing risk details, invalid formats (e.g. postcode, dates). SchemeServe will block progression until all validation rules pass.
Why can’t I bind the policy?
Binding is blocked when: There is an active referral not yet approved, key fields (e.g. inception date) are incomplete. Check the referral status on the case.
Why can’t I edit this policy?
Once a policy is bound (“On Cover”), direct editing is locked. All changes must be processed via: Mid-Term Adjustment (MTA).
Attempting to edit the original quote will not work.
Why can’t I find the “Buy” or “Bind” button?
This is typically due to: The quote being in referred status, missing required steps (e.g. declarations, endorsements), insufficient permissions on your user role.
The action buttons only appear when all conditions are met.
Why am I seeing validation errors on fields that look correct?
This often comes down to: Formatting issues (e.g. spaces, special characters), hidden validation rules (e.g. minimum/maximum values), copy-pasted data introducing invalid characters - re-entering the data manually usually resolves this.
Why can’t I cancel a policy?
Cancellation are restricted depending on user role. Reach out to the underwriters to cancel the policy for you.
