SchemeServe users with Opayo (formerly SagePay) integrations must ensure their accounts are correctly configured to:

  • Support PSD2 Strong Customer Authentication (SCA)

PSD2 / Strong Customer Authentication (SCA)

What is PSD2 SCA?

PSD2 is an EU regulation that requires Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) for online payments.

This typically involves 3D Secure authentication during the payment process.

Action Required

To remain compliant and continue processing payments, you must:

Enable 3D Secure in Opayo

If not already enabled, activate 3D Secure for all transactions.

Instructions:

Updating IP Addresses in Opayo

You must ensure all required SchemeServe IP addresses are added to your Opayo account.

Instructions:

⚠️ Important:
Do not delete any existing IP addresses currently configured, as this may disrupt existing integrations and payment flows.

Symptoms of Incorrect Configuration

If IP addresses or SCA settings are not configured correctly, you may experience:

  • Card payments failing or being declined
  • Transactions not reaching Opayo
  • Errors during payment processing
  • Intermittent or inconsistent payment behaviour
